The Vegetables title is intentional. Vegetables are ordinary, physical, unromantic. They come from the ground. They’re cut, handled, grouped. This painting isn’t symbolic in a literal way, but it is rooted in that same idea of material presence—things existing side by side, changing each other simply by being close. I want the painting to feel active and bodily, but also balanced—like something alive that’s paused mid-motion. Not resolved, just momentarily held.
