About this item

I created Underwater to explore the feeling of immersion — the quiet yet powerful movement that exists beneath the surface of the ocean. Using layers of blue and flowing gestures, I wanted the painting to feel fluid and expansive. Rather than depicting a literal underwater scene, the work focuses on the sensations of depth, calm, and movement that water creates.
